Free activities linked to Pride in Belper are taking place throughout the monthrather than as a single festival weekend. Highlights include a Pride-themed Dog Show at Belper Meadows Cricket Club. The Suffolk Pride Fringe Festival will run across Suffolk for five weeks with mostly free or low-cost events including theatre productions, roller disco nights, spoken word performances, queer life drawing, film screenings, walking groups and community socials. Events are planned in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Woodbridge, with activities for families, all ages and over-18s running from the end of May until late June. Nailsworth Pride takes place in Gloucestershire, and runs from Friday the 19th until Sunday the 28th of June. The programme includes live music, talks, film screenings, community gatherings, workshops, creative events and a Pride march on Saturday the 27th of June. Events are spread across venues including Pot’s and Pan’s, The Canteen and locations throughout the town, with activities running across nine days as part of the town’s first-ever Pride celebration. Free celebrations in Blackburn town centre begin with a parade assembling in Cathedral Square from 11.45am before setting off at noon. The fifth Blackburn Pride then moves to Town Hall Square for an official opening at 12.30pm, followed by live entertainment, community groups, activities and performances throughout the afternoon. Free celebrations in Thurso town centre will run from 10am until 7pm, with craft activities and entertainment from the morning before a parade sets off at 12 noon through the town. Activities are centred around Rotterdam Street, the High Street and nearby event spaces, with community groups, performers, stalls and family-friendly attractions forming part of the day’s programme. Free celebrations in Edinburgh begin with a march assembling at the Scottish Parliament from 12.15pm before setting off at 1pm through the city centre to Bristo Square. The Festival Village and Main Stage run from 2pm until 6pm, with headliners including Cher Lloyd, Kelli-Leigh and Kah-Lo, alongside drag performances, DJs, community stalls, food and drink. Free celebrations in Manor Gardens, Exmouth, will run from 11am until 6pm, beginning with Exmouth Pride’s first-ever march from Sideshore at 11am. Pride in Helensburgh runs from Friday the 19th until Saturday the 27th of June, with events taking place across the town throughout the week.
